Overview

The PE Department ethos is to provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment in which our pupils may thrive and achieve their potential. We aim to develop a passion for physical activity through an extensive program that will encourage lifelong participation.

Aims

  • To develop an understanding and appreciation of the benefits of physical activity to the individual.

  • To ensure that the individual experiences continual opportunities for improvement; through the use of individual, pair and group tasks.

  • To expose our pupils to a wide variety of sports and activities.

  • To develop our pupils’ understanding and application of the Components of Fitness and different training methods to improve performance.

  • To provide adequate opportunities for pupils to fulfil their academic potential in external examinations (GCSE, GCE), thereby preparing them for Further and/or Higher Education.
