Belfast Regional Individual Table Tennis Competition

Well done to Grosvenor's talented table tennis players who enjoyed success at the Belfast Regional Individual Table Tennis Competition, held at Glenburn Table Tennis Club on Wednesday 13th December.

In the Under 19 Boys' category, Irish International Ben Watson (Year 14) performed superbly to claim gold, defeating teammate Junior Close (also Year 14) in a hard-fought final. In addition, credit is also due to Euan Hanna (Year 13), who secured bronze following a narrow loss to Junior at the semi-final stage.

In the Under 19 Girls' age group, meanwhile, Lily Parke and Naomi Humes, both still only in Year 11, performed superbly to claim third and fourth places respectively.

And finally, in the Under 14 Boys' event, Matthew Bailie and Karsten Close, each only in Year 8, again performed impressively to claim joint third place, with a special mention going to Karsten, who narrowly missed out on progressing further after finding himself playing a young Team Ireland player.

Well done to each of the aforementioned pupils, who represented the School with such distinction on the day.
