Charitable Donation to East Belfast Mission
On the morning of Thursday 15th December Mark Sweeney, Director of Congregational Development at ‘East Belfast Mission’, was present at Grosvenor Grammar School’s senior Assembly to receive a cheque for £450 from the school.
The donation came from money raised by ticket sales for the school’s annual Talent Show on Tuesday 6th December. Much of this event was run by members of the school’s Lower 6th ‘COPE’ (Certificate of Personal Effectiveness) class, who chose ‘EBM’ as a worthwhile local recipient of the profit made from the event.
‘East Belfast Mission’, founded in 1985 and based on the Newtownards Road, is a community organisation which engages in community development and service in inner East Belfast. Grosvenor’s donation maintains its longstanding record of generous charitable fundraising and ensures that all money raised from this year’s Talent Show will go to a most worthwhile cause.
Well done to everybody within Grosvenor who helped to make the 2011 Talent Show such a success, enabling the school to make its valuable donation to 'EBM' in the process.
