Form One History Trip
On Monday 18th, Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th June Grosvenor’s Form One History students received the opportunity to visit nearby Carrickfergus Castle in conjunction with their study into the Norman period in the subject.
The pupils were accompanied at different stages over the three days by Mr Tomkins, Mrs Peel, Ms Lynch, Mr Elliott and Mr Wylie, with the tour of the castle proving informative and educational as ever.
Pupils were educated over the three days on the history of the castle since its construction in 1177 by John De Courcey, since when it has been maintained impressively and served an important function during both the First and Second World Wars.
Many thanks to the School’s History Department for its organisation of these worthwhile trips.
