STEM Exhibition

On the evening of Monday 23rd January Grosvenor’s Head of Technology Mr Sammy Taggart and Form 4 pupil Eve McLelland were invited to speak to invited guests at the Titanic Quarter’s ‘Pump-House’, located within the Northern Ireland Science Park, as part of an event celebrating excellence within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programme

The event saw projects exhibited from Monday 23rd – Friday 27th January, with the work of former Grosvenor pupils Graeme Browne and Lucy Mulholland, as well as Eve herself, placed on display over this period

On the evening Mr Taggart spoke about STEM within Grosvenor, focusing on the various competitions which the school has enjoyed success in over the past year.  In addition, Eve was invited to speak about her personal Technology – related achievements, such as her success at the ‘Sentinus Young Innovators Competition’, held at the Odyssey Arena in June of last year, the ‘BT Young Scientist and Engineering Exhibition’, held in Dublin earlier in the month, as well as the ‘Big Bang U.K. Youth Scientists and Engineers Fair’, which she will be competing at in Birmingham this March.

The event served as recognition for the sustained success of Grosvenor’s Technology department in recent times, and helped to make those in attendance fully aware of the level of achievement which it has enjoyed during this period.

Well done to Mr Taggart, Eve, teachers Miss Semple and Mr Platt, and all of the Grosvenor pupils who have contributed to this incredible success.
