Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity International was founded nearly 40 years ago and is now a world leader in addressing the issue of poverty housing. Globally, Habitat’s disaster response programmes have supported more than half a million people with shelter in the aftermath of disaster and conflict.

Each year, the school works with pupils from Our Lady and St Patrick’s College Knock on a local project to help communities in deprived areas. The team of pupils also carry out various fund-raising projects in order to raise a minimum of £1235 as this is the average cost of building a home for a family.

The work of many pupils was recognised in 2017 when both schools were awarded the “Spirit of Partnership Award” in recognition of their sustained contributions.
