We are delighted that our school has been recognised by the Office of Identity and Cultural Expression with a National Identity and Cultural Expression (NICE) Award in recognition of our commitment to promoting inclusion, respect and positive relationships across our school community.

As our school community continues to grow and diversify, we are proud to celebrate the rich range of cultures, traditions and perspectives represented within it. Currently, 36 different languages are spoken in our pupils’ homes, and pupils from a variety of religious faiths and backgrounds learn together every day. This diversity enriches school life and provides valuable opportunities for learning, understanding and mutual respect.

The award recognises our commitment to upholding the National and Cultural Identity Principles, which affirm that every individual is free to choose, express and celebrate their national and cultural identity while respecting others and the rule of law. The principles also encourage the promotion of reconciliation, tolerance, meaningful dialogue, mutual respect and understanding between people of different backgrounds.

These principles align closely with our core school values of Relationships, Respect and Responsibility. Through our curriculum, pastoral care, assemblies and wider school activities, we seek to create an environment where every pupil feels valued, diversity is celebrated, and all members of our community are encouraged to engage positively and respectfully with one another.

We are proud to receive this recognition and remain committed to fostering a culture of inclusion, understanding and respect, ensuring that every young person feels a sense of belonging and is empowered to contribute positively to our shared community.
