City of Belfast School of Music Concerts

Well done to each of the sixteen Grosvenor students who participated in the City of Belfast School of Music Young Music Makers Concert last Thursday night, the City of Belfast School of Music Summer Showcase Concert last Friday evening, as well as at the City of Belfast Youth Orchestra’s Summer Concert on Sunday, each of which were held at the Ulster Hall.

A full list of Grosvenor’s representatives is as follows:

Year 8: Heidi Dalzell, Oliver Donnelly, Lily Douglas

Year 9: Josie Gilmore, Penny Glover, Yoyee Lau, Arthur Loan, Jack Mitchell

Year 12: Matthew Benson, Neve Calderwood, Henry McCrea, Katie Smyth

Year 13: Ruby Glover, Melissa Johnston

Year 14: Harry Douglas, Eryn Otley 

Sunday’s concert was the CBYO’s final home performance before many of its members head on tour to Italy this summer, where they will represent Northern Ireland at the Florence International Festival of Youth Orchestras. This will include Grosvenor pupils Eryn Otley (Year 14), Katie Smyth (Year 12) and Harry Douglas (Year 12), as well as Harry Douglas from the GGS Class of ’24.  

Grosvenor’s impressive representation at these events reflects the consistently flourishing nature of its musical endeavours – well done to all involved.
