Minister for Education visit

On Thursday 17th June Grosvenor welcomed Minister for Education Michelle McIlveen MLA to the school, where she was given the chance to meet with Principal Dr Vasey, Head Boy and Head Girl Jonny Robinson and Abbie Myles, as well as a number of the School’s Year 8 pupils.

During her visit Ms McIlveen was keen to hear about how the school had managed and adapted over the past fifteen months, and especially during the two extended periods of lockdown. She was particularly impressed by the strong pastoral ethos that shone through when speaking to the pupils.

Ms McIlveen’s short trip to Grosvenor was one of her first school visits following her appointment as Minister for Education on 14th June; apt given that she previously taught History and Politics in the school during the 1990s.

Many thanks to Ms McIlveen for making the time in her busy schedule to visit our school – we look forward to welcoming her back again before long.
