Track and Field Success!

Congratulations to Ben and Jude, both Year 13, each of whom enjoyed superb track and field-related successes last weekend.

Ben represented Ireland as part of the Under-20 men’s 4x100m relay team at the prestigious Junioren Gala in Mannheim, Germany – an event featuring competitors from over 25 countries worldwide. Running an excellent second leg, Ben helped his team secure a remarkable time of 40.09 seconds. This performance not only broke the Irish record but also achieved the qualifying standard for the World Under-20 Championships, set to take place in Oregon this August.

Meanwhile, closer to home, Jude delivered an impressive performance at the NI & Ulster Senior Championships at the Mary Peters Track, claiming victory in the high jump with a new personal best of 1.90m. This achievement now places him 6th in Ireland overall — a fantastic accomplishment.
