UKMT Mathematical Competition for Girls

In September the School entered 5 girls into the UK Mathematics Trust inaugural Mathematical Competition for Girls. The competition consisted of 5 very challenging problems which are completed in 90 minutes. The top 20% of candidates receive a Distinction and the next 40% of entrants receive a certificate of Merit.

Our girls were very successful with Jasmine Robinson, Julia Bronka and Tillie Hamilton each achieving a Distinction and Zara Suciu and Ruby Glover both achieving a Merit.

A special congratulations should go to Jasmine Robinson who was awarded a certificate for the highest scoring student in Northern Ireland. This is an exceptional achievement for both Jasmine and the School and we are delighted that her problem solving ability and hard work have been rewarded in this way.

Well done to all five girls on this superb success!
