Ulster Schools’ Individual Table Tennis Championships

Congratulations to Tobias Gal, Year 8, and Karsten Close, Year 10, each of whom enjoyed success at the Ulster Schools’ Individual Table Tennis Championships, held on Wednesday at South Lake Leisure Centre, Craigavon.

Tobias stormed to victory in the Under 12 category, securing a well-deserved 3-2 victory in his final. In addition, Karsten added to the plethora of Ulster and Irish titles that he has won over recent years, defeating teammate Matthew Bailie in the Under 14 final.

Elsewhere, further successes were enjoyed by Jack Bailie, Year 13, who placed third in the Under 19 Boys event, as well as Lily Parke and Darcy Drennan, each of whom finished in 4th place, in the Under 19 and Under 12 Girls categories respectively.

In addition, Hangyu Ji (U16 Boys), Melissa Johnston (U19 Girls), Josiah Johnston (U12 Boys) and Alex Stevenson (U14 Boys) each performed commendably to reach the quarter finals of their respective competitions.

Well done to all of the above on their impressive performances, helping the School to maintain its outstanding reputation for excellence in the table tennis arena!
