Ulster Schools' Table Tennis Team Championships

Congratulations to the School’s Under 15 Boys Table Tennis team, which placed first at the recent Ulster Schools Table Tennis Team Championships, held at Lisburn Racquets Club.

The team, comprising Karsten Close, Matthew Bailie, Hangyu Ji, Alex Stevenson, Tobias Gal and Alfie Kennedy prevailed over the 11 other competing teams, winning each match 6-0, including their final against Monaghan.  

In addition, the Under 19 Girls Team, made up of Lily Parke, Melissa Johnston, Naomi Humes, Darcy Drennan (a Year 8 pupil!), Amelia Jankowska and Gracie Ashbridge performed impressively to place joint 3rd in their category.

And finally, the Under 13 Boys Team, featuring Alex Hamilton, Josiah Johnston, Will Apsley, Luke McKeown, Aaron Armstrong and Kacper Segner performed well to reach the semi-final of their competition, before losing to St. Catherine’s College.

Well done to all of the above on their impressive performances, building upon the School’s richly deserved reputation for table tennis-related excellence over recent years!
